The wrestling season is coming to an end, but it is the end that is the most important.  Throughout the season, Sauk Valley wrestlers head to practice during the week and compete each weekend at various tournaments around the state.  Each tournament throughout the season is practice for what begins on Sunday, February 25, the IKWF state series.  Regionals is the first tournament in the series and is the final tournament of the year for the Tot and Bantam divisions.  It is a hurdle for the Intermediate, Novice and, Senior divisions.   Each of those divisions must place in the top 6 to move on to sectionals.  Sectionals is the end for Intermediate division and only those in the Novice and Senior divisions who place in the top three get the honor of moving on to the state tournament.  Novice and Senior division state qualifiers compete in the IKWF State Championship on March 9 and March 10 in one of the toughest tournaments in the nation for  these age groups.  The Sauk Valley Wrestling Club encourages all of its wrestlers to compete in the sate series and win or lose be proud of their accomplishments this wrestling season.
